THRE Connectors

Connectors help us put human rights and equalities at the heart of Scotland’s third sector so that together we can demonstrate the difference taking a human rights and equalities first approach can make for organisations, and the communities they work with.

Become a THRE Connector

Do you have an interest in human rights and equalities? Become a THRE Connector.

Connectors are the link between THRE and your organisation, and with the people and organisations you work with.

You will be interested in the issues, ideas and conversations around human rights and equalities, and be keen to help more third-sector organisations know about and start to take a human rights and equalities first approach.

You don’t need any pre-existing knowledge or experience of human rights and equalities to become a THRE Connector and there is only a small time commitment needed. As a Connector you won’t be expected or asked to act as a human rights and equalities lead or expert at your organisation or provide advice or guidance to people on human rights or equalities issues.

Why be a Connector for your organisation?

  • Help us put human rights and equalities at the heart of Scotland’s third sector: so that together we can demonstrate the difference taking a human rights and equalities first approach can make for organisations, and the communities they work with.
  • THRE Connectors network: online connectors meetings and events to hear from each other as well as the THRE team and other invited guests.
  • THRE information and signposting support: Connectors can contact the THRE team with human rights and equalities related questions on behalf of their organisation or the organisations they work with. Access the THRE team’s experience and expertise, resources, and signposting to expert organisations. This service is only available to organisations with a THRE Connector.
  • Connectors newsletter: featuring news, updates and selected resources to share with your organisation before they are launched publicly.
  • Access to fully booked THRE courses: if a course is fully booked we will where possible increase the capacity to allow connectors to attend, by up to five additional places.

What do I need to do as a Connector?

  • Help us promote our courses, resources and other offers within your organisation and through your networks, to the organisations you work with and other relevant audiences.
  • Help us reach out to identify and connect with best practice, find organisations or people for case studies to spotlight, and let us know about new work or offers being launched in your area relevant to THRE.
  • Complete a short survey twice a year to help us understand the impact being a THRE connector has for you and your organisation.
