Resources: Getting It Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) e-Learning Module

We are excited to announce that Children in Scotland, in collaboration with the STTS Project and THRE, have created and launched a new GIRFEC e-Learning Module.

To access this new module and the others in the e-Learning Hub you will need to create an account, which is completely free.  Click here to get started.

The UNCRC (Scotland) Act has now been in force for over a month. This comes after a long journey of campaigning from children and young people, supporting adults and key organisations.

Now that the UNCRC is in law, what’s next?

The law is the floor for what we should expect from people with power and responsibility, it’s a huge milestone to now have the UNCRC incorporated into Scots law but for there to be a tangible impact on the lives of children and young people across Scotland we must also see changes in practice and culture.

The next step is now to continue the work in championing best practice and ensuring quality guidance/education is available to practitioners and others with responsibilities under the UNCRC.

This new e-learning module is designed to enhance understanding and application of the Scottish Government’s Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) policy.   In this module, you will explore GIRFEC and how it helps to ensure that children and young people get the right help, at the right time, from the right people. The module is aimed at third sector staff and volunteers who work directly with or alongside children and young people in Scotland.   Click here to get create a free e-learning Hub account and get started.
